Terms and Conditions

Payment

A 40% deposit is required to book your slot in my work schedule. The remaining balance (60% plus shipping cost) is due once the portrait has been completed. The artwork will be dispatched after the final payment has been received. Payment can be made via bank transfer or PayPal. Any PayPal transaction fees are covered by the buyer.

Timescale

Isobel Emmett will provide an estimated date of completion for your artwork and will contact you the week before work begins on your portrait.

Cancellations

There is a 7-day money back guarantee for commissions, beginning from the date you pay your 40% deposit. During this 7-day cooling off period, you may request to cancel your booking and receive a full refund.

If you decide to cancel your booking after the 7-day cooling off period has ended, then you will forfeit the 40% deposit that you have paid.

Guarantee

If you do not approve the finished portrait, then you are not required to make any further payment and the portrait will remain the property of Isobel Emmett. Owing to the nature of custom commissions, no refunds will be made once you have approved the finished portrait and this has been shipped.

Delivery & Postage

Your artwork is supplied unframed and unmounted. It is covered by a sheet of glassine paper and secured between two pieces of foam board. Each portrait comes with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity and a pastel care guide.

Postage to anywhere in the UK is £10 using Royal Mail Special Delivery; a tracked and signed for service guaranteed before 1pm the next working day. You will receive a tracking number when the artwork has been dispatched. For anywhere else in the world, please contact me for an individual tracked shipping quotation.

Import Tax & Duties

If you have made your purchase from outside the UK, your delivery may be subject to import tax. These charges will be specific to your country and you will be responsible for paying any import tax and duties should they arise. Isobel Emmett cannot be held responsible for any additional charges which may occur.

Damage in Transit

All portraits are extremely well packaged but in the unlikely event that damage occurs during transit, please email a photograph of the damaged artwork to Isobel Emmett immediately.​

Collection

You are welcome to collect your artwork in person from the studio in the Midlands, UK. Please contact Isobel Emmett in advance if you wish to collect your portrait in person so that no delivery charges are made.

Copyright

Isobel Emmett retains copyright to all artwork that she produces and so reserves the right to use commissioned work for promotional purposes, both online and in other promotional materials. Clients who do not wish their commissioned portrait to be shared must notify her before work commences.
