About

Isobel Emmett is a pastel artist working from home in a small village on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border, UK. She lives with her family and two golden retrievers – Lottie and May – and became a professional artist in January 2023 after gaining a First-Class Honours degree at Durham University in History of Art and Philosophy. She is a self-taught artist specialising in hyper-realistic portraiture.

Isobel works on a commission basis using good quality reference photos to create highly detailed drawings of much-loved pets and other animals, including British wildlife. She also creates original artworks for sale and supplies mounted/unmounted limited edition prints for shipping worldwide. Isobel uses only the finest archival materials to ensure the longevity of her artwork.

Passionate about sharing knowledge and helping other aspiring artists, Isobel regularly posts free art tutorials on her social media platforms. She is documenting her journey as a professional artist on YouTube and is more than happy to welcome visitors to her studio as long as this has been agreed in advance.
